yup, it's today and I hope women who don't know why this day exists will read about it and not only appreciate that we've come a long way (baby!) but how far we still need to go. With the continuously-stoked "mommy wars" and the little progress that has been made in the areas of affordable health care, education & childcare, and the prevalence of violence towards women and children (in the US and worldwide) my prayer for today is that all of us, ALL of us who are human, will do a little something extra to advocate for real change and improvements.
